When two people first start out dating, they probably don't know each other well enough to be going on an extended trip together. But perhaps taking a "trip" to their own city would be a good approach: most people never bother to visit the famous sites of their own hometowns. How many New Yorkers have gone to Ellis Island, a Broadway show, or the Empire State Building? How many San Franciscans have experienced Fisherman's Wharf, or toured Alcatraz? Get to know your own hometown by going where the tourists go... and bring a date.
