Anyone Tried Making a Living While Traveling?

This is my Holy Grail: to be able to replenish my finances wherever I may be in the world, so that my travels will not be limited by how much I have saved at the outset. So far, I have never figured out how to do this, but I have had some tantalizing tastes of it. In Taiwan, I was teaching English, and, when I lost that position, it should theoretically have been possible for me to find another, similar one with a different bushiban. I would have had to re-do all the visa requirements to reflect my new employer, but it should have been possible.

And then there was my most recent, failed enterprise: the Peace Corps. They don't pay a lot, but they provide what they consider enough to cover expenses while in-country.

If I could overcome the need to return to my own country to make a living, I would be as hard to find as Carmen Sandiego.
